It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky Imagine all the people
Livin’ for today
Ah

Imagine history
Imagine is a song by John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono in 1971.
The song, quite famous since the release of the eponymous single Imagine, became a hit ten years later, in 1981, after Lennon’s murder in New York.
Today, everyone has already heard once in his life Imagine that the music magazine Rolling Stone ranks as the third best Pop Rock song.
The lyrics of the song make us understand the humanistic dimension and the values that John Lennon and Yoko Ono defended. In Imagine, they talk to us about peace, a world without borders, whether physical (“Imagine there’s no countries“) or mental (“And no religion too“) and sharing (“Imagine no possessions“, “Imagine all the people , Sharing all the world“).
The song may seem utopian and Lennon already knew it (“You may say I’m a dreamer“). But we already know that a utopia, from the Greek for “place that does not exist”, is not a dream but that desire to create another world. And that’s why Lennon and Ono invite us to join them: “I hope someday you’ll join us“.
