Cancion del mariachi history

The famous Cancion del mariachi chords is a song composed in 1995 by the group Los Lobos. As everyone knows, this song was written for the movie Desperado with Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.

The movie Desperado almost opens with a scene in which Banderas, who, as the title indicates, is a mariachi, sings with his band while he is in charge of saving the situation of a woman in danger… without stopping singing.

In the light of this scene, the lyrics of our Canción del mariachi, “a very honest man” (“hombre muy honrado”) who lacks neither money nor love, can be better understood.
